Bio

Judy Kilian is legally blind, yet sees more of God than many – a modern day Fanny Crosby. From infancy, Judy loved the sound of music and could be pacified with hymns being sung to her.  She began to play the guitar, to sing with her family, and to play the piano by ear at an early age. As she shared her gifts, more joys opened to her.

Her song writing began in earnest when her father asked her to put melody to his poems.  She discovered that she had a gift for writing melody. At that time, Judy did not feel she had a gift for writing lyrics but as her relationship with Jesus Christ deepened, this changed. Many of her lyrics have been born out of dark days when God encouraged her. Others were written in the full sunshine of God’s love and blessing.  Still others took shape as she watched God working in the lives of those around her.

Each song has a story behind it, each verse an encouragement from a heart listening for Jesus on life’s paths.  Each song is very personal yet felt by each at different times in their lives.  Some make us want to dance, others allow us to cry on our Savior’s lap or shout His praises.

A wife, mother of four adult children, grandmother of eleven, sister with ten siblings, teacher of the visually impaired, and active in her church both on the piano and vocally, she is surrounded by those blessed in her gifts and her great love for God’s Word.  She strives to make sure each song is based on Scriptural truths with a desire to make His praise glorious!
